In the upper years, students deepen this foundation through a track system that allows them to specialize according to their interests and intended career pathways. Students select a track in the third year (second semester), subject to department approval and faculty availability.
This track develops students’ capacity to conduct and write historical research that strengthens national identity and supports national development, with emphasis on Philippine history and the country’s historical relations within Asia.
This track centers on international concerns and prepares students to analyze major political, economic, social, and cultural forces shaping the world, enabling them to interpret regional and global developments through historical perspective.
This track prepares students for professional historical work beyond the academe by training them for applied practice in areas such as heritage work, archives, museums, and public-facing historical projects.
This track prepares students for teaching in primary and secondary education, combining a strong historical foundation with professional education courses that support effective classroom practice and supervised teaching preparation.
